Title: Headlight Filters
Post by: Bush Tucker Man on October 27, 2005, 11:12:26
I was on the M62 yesterday & queing in standing traffic on the opposing carriageway was a short convoy of Army 110's & Sankeys.

All of them had a coloured filter over the off-side headlight.
Some were green, others were blue.

I'll guess that they notate a particular role for that specific vehicle, but can anyone clarify that supposition for me?

Is this instead of the flags they used to carry?

Yes, easier to spot. Blue for packet leader, red for last vehicle in packet

Poss using them cause they will be moving in the dark too. unless they have used the flags for rags :)
