Title: Wiring in a disco 300tdi
Post by: landyman Ash on August 22, 2005, 22:05:00
I ned to wire in the disco 300tdi into my 90 hybrid.  It has a 90 V8 loom.

Im fine with alternator etc BUT its the glow plug solonoid.  There are a handful of black (earth I presume) and the brown and yellow.  What does that need to go to?

Apart from starter, what else is needed on a Tdi?  Ive only ever owned V8s!!!!

HELP!!!!!!!!!

thers 5 wire to make it go

1 for the stop solenoid,
1 for te oil pressure
1 for collant temp
yellow goes to glow plug & the other is the 1 for activating the relay,

in theory you shouldnt need to have glow plugs to make it start, there will also prob be a wire kicking about so the motor no's when its in park/N for starting

I'll sort of be doing the opposite of you at the end of the week -fitting a 300tdi defender loom into a v8 hybrid. The engine end of the main loom has 2 plugs. One is for the actual engine loom (oil pressure etc) and a heavier one is for the glow plug relay. I'll make a note of what is where and let you know.
