Post by: Mark_Solesbury on September 03, 2003, 10:23:30
Morning

The water pump cracked on my rangie leaving 2 of the bolts at the bottom snapped off still in th etiming cover.

I do not want to get a new tiuming cover, as it will be an pain to fit, and is nearly the cost of the vehicle...

What is the best way to drill them out??

I am a bit weiry as the timing case is alloy.

Any help/tips??

Had a similar sort of thing with the timing belt tensioner.
Workshop took the cover off and round to a machine shop to have the stud bench drilled out and then heli-coiled.

BUT this did not last very long and ended up with a second hand timing belt cover.
