Title: Transmission oil mistakenly drained
Post by: petethib on March 01, 2004, 00:32:14
Have a new 2004 RR and mistakenly drained the transmission oil which has a drain plug which appeard to be the crank case oil plug. This was the first oil change at 3,790 miles. It was a stupid mistake, but since this is Sunday an no one that I know knows anything about it. Is there a place to refil the sump which drained about 2&1/2 quarts of an amber oil.

Sounds like you have drained the Automatic Transmision Fluid..

Re-fill it via the ATF dipstick tube under the bonnet..

Don´t put ATF in there!!!!!!!!!

you have to use a special oil. What do you have ? diesel or petrol?? I will tell you what oil to put in (I work for Land Rover)
