Title: jimny mot
Post by: bravo669 on April 30, 2010, 21:37:45
the jimny passed its mot today. only problem was they had to reseat the front coils. now i have a +2" lift so would it be a clever plan to fit some dislocation cones to help reseat the coils if i unseat them again? tbh i didnt even notice they were not seated properly!! no difference in handling / funny noises etc!

Reading the USA rock crawling forums there seems to be two camps of thought, those for spring re-locators and those for retainers and lots of arguments for and against. In fact there are arguments all over net, it's one of those topics of contention. The gist is once dislocated the tyre barely gives traction anyway. Dis-cone seem more popular in uk. Why not fit retainers (i.e heavy duty cable ties or jubilee clips) whilst you contemplate cones.

one of the many argument threads ...
