lets get this section buzzing
why did u buy suzuki?
wud you change if you could?
if so why if not why not?
simon
-
because we didnt want to get somethig stupidly expensive as a beginner and then break it a couple of months later..
would change it? some times but shes a fun car and pretty capable
-
suzukis are just great, fun and look great,
its the best truck ive ever had and will not be selling this for a very very long time,if ever,
they also dont cost the earth to buy and parts are cheap, what more can i say :D :D
SUZUKIS ROCK :(shades):

-
the sjs had cheap modded bits but the vit bits get expensive
-
yeah can understand what your saying but ive got some in my back gargen that o rob bits off,and my mum and dad dont mind so thats always handy  :D carnt remember the last time i had to buy a bit for my zook :D

-
I brought mine because i wanted a 4x4 but not a Land Rover and there cheap as chips.
I would sell it usually after i break it but you could not afford it.
I would change it for another 4x4 but have to be another SJ.
I just love the looks you get its like a mini monster truck.
-
why did u buy suzuki? because it was cheap to buy, run and mod
wud you change if you could? i wanted a lada niva, but the parts are so hard to get a hold of, thats why i got my vit. i wouldnt mind something a little bigger. i quite like swb pajeros in a 2.8td. also, i like g-wagons, there ugly [!Expletive Deleted!] but you dont see enough of them offroading. i also like isuzu troopers, mostly because my dad use to have one and it was a lovely car
-
Our vit is cheap to mod & repair, we had so much fun and because they're so cheap they can be abused without too much damage to the wallet :D missus drove it through a lake and we never laughed so much with the vit full of water ... but it just kept on going
-
ok guys
lets get this section buzzing
why did u buy suzuki?
Because I had one once in Canada on holiday instead of the usual Cyrsler Stratus/ ford ranger. Mate got his 98 ranger hopelessly stuck and I tugged it out with a wrecked 95 tracker (Pontiac version of the vit) running on 2 1/2 cyliners and just drove it till it self destructed.
wud you change if you could?
I say I will, and maybe I'll get an RRC one day as its the only one of the green oval family I really like. The other would be the P38a but have heard too many horror stories. Might change it for a Paj
if so why if not why not?
It squeeks
It grinds
It vibrates
It breaks
It has bricks for springs
Its tiresome to drive at times
It leaks
It has the onroad performance of an asthmatic badger
but for some reasion, its just so much fun! :)
-
Best fun I have had for £300
It goes most places that the highly modded stuff goes.
-
given to me lol
-
Originally chose my Vitara as an upgrade from a very uncomfortable Samurai. Main reason was price as I got it for £800 off Ebay but I think I may have to desert you all and buy a Defender 90 next year. (or a JEEP if someone wants to give me a wad of cash  ).
Reason is that I am sick of breaking diffs & driveshafts, the Vit just isn't strong enough in the drive train for the stuff I want to do. Don't get me wrong as a green laner they are fantastic and very comfortable but not much good for Pay & Play days in quarries as I'm sure I will discover again at Kirton this Sunday :D .
-
1> I brought my Sj413 Cause it was cheap
2> I Changed cause i kept bracking it :P and cause it was my evry day as well and need more space.
But i will get another zuki at some point.. and it will be a vit just to get muddy LOL
-
my misses fell in love with a 410.
4 months later, she is fed up with it.
so i had to sell my mg to get her another car and i ended up with the sj.
15 years later. i love zuks.
-
cos there tough!! a couple of years ago a mud run was organised for charity. Some serious kit turned up swamp tyres ,difflocks big motors but out of the lot one got through yep you guessed, and all the running gear is still on my present sj.
-
so a SJ is more robust than a vit ?
-
Brian, what are you doing here............ do i smell a purchase on the horizon.
-
Because you can kill em and they still come back for more!

Devils pit a couple of years ago!
Cheers

vits are strong but the only weekness is the front axel, shafts, :( but mack up for in speed, comfort,
sj are just mad,no matter what you do they still ask for more  :D

-
Ive got a sammy because i have already had a series 111 and i think the suzuki goes better, further and for cheaper ! :D
-
i brought my sj because it was cheap on ebay 8) , cheap to tax and insure plus it goes anywhere. it also turns a few heads when they hear the roar of the k&n and see a little sj
-
had 6k to get daily car for 20000miles a year and weekend toy
old landy or nearly new jimny and mod it.
jimny won and No regrets the more i play the more it loves it !
ps had lr s3 for 3 weeks . not for me.
-
I bought mine because i was 17 and it was me first car, not cheap insure tho but mor fun than a corsa or fiesta. The only reason i would change it is because of distance to my new job and that it brakes down alot.
-
I bought my GV as i wanted a cheap, reliable car i could do some easy back lanes in.
Biggest mistake i ever made!
Exhaust runs right along the bottom of the car and catches on everything! The front diff is aluminium, i mean come on for gods sake!!!
The car is crap off road and nothing compared to even a freelander!
I ended up buying a 15 year old Disco for 1K and that was awsome!
I hear that some are good off road but am not sure from my experience (admittidly ltd!)
I mean who puts a aluminium diff casing on anything that goes off road!
-
We got the Vit as we had to combine a few things.
A cheap and small runner for the wife and something we could use for fun (i.e Green Laning when we get the chance )
If we break the Vit when laning she can use my weekend car until it is fixed but it aint a 'use every day' car :P
Would we change it? Not yet...not had it long enough and not done anything in it yet
-
usually out quadbiking, but weather cold now,so bought a jimny to carry on greenlaning in relative comfort, lol.Seems a very capable car at what ive thrown at it,and keeps coming back for more.Reason i bought it......nice and small and light, just the job for what i do at weekends.would i change to something else....not at the mo ,love the jimny.lol.
-
Just to pee off the Landrover drivers when their un-stoppable "best 4x4 by far gets stuck I don't. Seriously - I didn't want to become a Landrover clone.
-
£300 with CD player, leccy windows 12 moths MOT, £40 for a set of second hand mud tyres.
Get me a Land rover or any thing else for that out lay?
-
Ive been offroading for around 40+ years had every make thats out there except for Merc g wagon, owned a sj413, 2 Vits, and a Jimny,my ideal Zuk would be a Vit with SJ leaf springs broke both my Vits diffs so chuck in some Hi lux axles the 1600 lump is a tad breathless so add a GV2000cc lump and there we have it my ideal Zuk, i am about to ditch my Landy 90 and Disco and buy another Jimny because fuel prices road tax ins etc have become so pricey,so i am soon to be a Zuk man again, ;)
-
Because they look good..Actually i just fancied a change always have liked the vit's and Mark was selling his at the time i just had to have it..

Cheers Gav
-
well they are very capable with the correct tyres and you do not have to do much to them and we have found very reliable and will got places hevier 4x4s can,t get and still get you home
-
OK i finally get it,
I've only owned the Vit 4 a short while and up until today i wasn't over joyed with the Vitara, it's pretty slow and not the greatest to drive from A to B, but goto C & suddenly it makes complete sense- Take it off road and it comes alive :D
Today i christened the Vitara and i like what i found!
I have converted to the darkside :whothedaddy:

Intersting to read about your Vit.
My GV is bloody dire! even the most calm green lane that the farmer uses to collect milk results in grounding and i hate the bloody thing.
I had a discovery which was in a completly different league.
Perhaps i have a bum GV.
Must say though it is supurbly reliable!
-
Only been into off roading about 12 months now and have to say this is the most fun hobby I have ever had ,, :D
I started on farmers track roads as i work out a lot of these places and found my Grand vit has never let me down the V6 is so smooth a drive ,,,then someone told me about Korc so thats when i got my standard vit 16.8v it was box standard when i first took it to Korc and the little thing did this ,,,,http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=441wEMYnLko
:P
I soon found out there are a great bunch of people into this sport ,,friendly and willing to help each other out so thats it I guess you could say im smitten ,,,my white vit has now gone from standard to a little more extreme  im sure most here will agree most part of this sports fun is the home build ,,then going out and trying new and more exciting things ,,
so where I thought the vit was going to just be a great starting project now realise just how and what great fun they are ..
