Title: 1997 SWB 1.6 16v Vitara Exaust?

Ok guys (and Gals), I need to pick your brains.

Is there an after market Exaust system for my Vitara that I can fit instead of the standard one that will still pass the MOT?.

most of the aftermarket ones are ok, just weld a skid plate from the pipe  onto the rolled edge of the boxes to both strengthen the welded joint and reduce the damage when it contacts the ground etc.
Dont expect the cat to last forever with thermal shock being a regular occurence. If you go for one of the big bore systems remember the lower pressure in the exhaust makes it harder to expel the water when wading.

All the after market ones I have seen (including Jan Speed) have been for the 8v models only  :?
