Title: These Soozookii's look interesting
Post by: toger on February 11, 2007, 15:23:46
Having replaced my 300 tdi disco with a disco 2 some four days ago, I went out for a trip and drove to the service station at Warminster, Wiltshire.

Nothing funny going on being there, it was just that I knew that an organised offroad event was taking place with the services being the meeting place.   About 25 vehicles turned up and to my surprise, about 10 suzuki vehcles.   Suprised? Yes because they were the first I have come across in my circle of off roading friends.

Some of them were SJ, some Santana and one Vitara.  All were tricked up and one was even wearing macmillan stickers.
The best was .....was... well absolutely brilliant...it was painted in what I took to be german luftwaffe warplane colours of light grey/blue with black and white patterns.  It had what I thought were the tyres off a quad bike on it and it looked absolutely fantastic.

Although all of them were soft tops which didn't look to cool seeing as it was monsoon weather in Warminster yesterday :D

It got me wondering if anyone knew about any suzuki off road clubs down around my area (all I know is LR) in the South of Gloscetershire.

Of course I know absolutely nothing about these vehicles but if they have a model that has a decent heater and demister (read miles better than a defenders or rangie classic :D  ) I would be really interested in obtaining a tin top cheap one as a permanent plaything.
Sorry about the length of this post but
Can someone give me some serious guidance in all things suzuki and club suzuki please?
Tanks in advance.

ps whats a fatboy?

Hell and welcome to the dark side

A fat boy is a posers vitara (hairdresser) Ok on the road but about a much use off road as a mobility scooter.

Drop an ad on Difflock.com (suzuki section)there are loads of zook nutters in that neck of the woods they should be able to source you something cheap down there, whack some Colway MT's on it and join the fun cheaper than a landy and the bits are half as heavy .
I am sure Matt Carruthers is down your way just put a "calling Matt Carruthers "mail on Difflock he should help.

Regards

Steve

Its a cross between a Suzuki Samurai, Vitara, Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Rover with a bit of Jeep for good measure.

Best £300 I have spent
http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/winchman/gallery/Vitara
Just stuck some used Colway Ctrac MTs on it for £40, not ,managed to get it stuck yet
I often feel the bottom scraping on things, but if you look at the cost of lifting it and the way it will upset other things I dont feel its worth it.
Heres is my SJ that had all sorts of lifts and mods but was a pig to drive

Not really done anything to mine yet, just put some diamond backs on it and put the fuel tank in the back but the b****y thing is fantastic. It took a kitted up disco & a 90 landy 3 or 4 attempts at this little hill, with a run up too!

No probs for the little zuke. Just need to replace the transfer box mounts every time you use the thing!

Hi Simon,
Yes it is. Very good site, I think so anyway. Last time i went there were quite a few Zukes, one guy managed to do a somersault in his 410, bit mangled!
It wasn't an organised event, just a pay n play thing run by these guys http://www.4x4funday.co.uk/
£35, which for a days fun isn't too bad I guess.
Next event is 18th March, I want to go but the kids want to do something for Mother's day, dare I upset them and the missus? I suppose I could take them all there for the day.

Maybe see you there sometime
