Title: Weak performance from the heaters
Post by: Grinch on November 21, 2006, 12:18:53
Hi Folks, hoping you can help me out here.

My good Lady just bought herself a Jimny, but we have found that the heaters are not putting out much hot air, its luke warm at best.  I have a jimny which is 2 months older so we know what to expect from them mines toasty warm :D ).

I have flushed the heater thru in reverse with a hose, which cleared a load of gunk out, but hasnt improved it much. Also the flow seemed to be lower than i would have expected for what i was putting in with the hose  ive now got it connected in reverse to see if the engine can hot back flush it, but after 50 miles its not changed.

Does anyone know of a good system flush that may un block the remainder of the core, or any other tips i could try before is rip it out and replace it.

Cheers in advance

Matt

Try adjusting the little valve by hand..........sometimes the cables need adjusting.
