Hi from a newbie to this site...I have spent the last decade looking at various 4 x 4 vehicles...everything from a Disco to a Pajero and I am constantly being drawn to a soft top Jimny...please pardon if this question has been asked before but how reliable are these vehicles.I intend using the car as a family runabout and hope to do just gentle off roading in it.
Apart from that it's a big hello from a newbie. :D

I beleive the soft tops are rubbish and tear all the time, the hardtops are ok though.
-
reliabity wise, you can't fault them.
for general road use with light off roading they are great.
but...... the bug will bite and you will be modding it in no time.

Think you'd better have a look at mine, www.laneriders.com lots of piccies on there. presstuds rust on soft tops so grease them straight away, other than that theyre fine. Parts are dear, and there isnt the choice like landrovers, limited suppliers. Best so far is www.dgtuning.com in belgium - posts stuff fine though.
