Looking to buy a second hand zuke as replacemnet for family car
Does anyone have any idear what sort of road tax costs are involved cost to insure etc in comparison to a 90

my jimnys £150 a year road tax cos its crap on emissions. 35 to the gallon with my mud terrains on.

with regaard to the insurance, we pay less for the 90 than we did for a Suzuki Samurai, which I think is a group 6, the same as the Jimny.

Cant work it out but it is with the National Farmers Union

I pay 275 as a modified vehicle, was 300 insured as standard

just insured mine 238 as a modified (adrian flux )
 
 338 as standard (robin sods )

My Jimny  is group 6  220  modified , 30mpg  -on 215/80/15 muds  r/tax 120   ,  i think the land/rover 90 is cheaper to insure because it can be got on classic insurance as most are over 20 yrs old + they are cheap to repair,

Bits in general are far cheaper than Land Rovers, you can get a compleate runner for £100.

90's are lower insurance because they are mostly hard top (harder to nick). They are also the official encap safest car on the road. However, like the others have said sj's are easy to work on, cheap to run (low tax for 1.3 l engine etc). Soft top SJ's stupidly easy to steal so worth getting a steering lock etc.

Part are extremely cheap even new provided you avoid suzuki dealers like you would the plague.
