Title: Miss firing
Post by: blueboar on July 26, 2007, 11:54:37
Hello

I have just done nearly a 1000 mile round trip in the last day and a half in my 2001 TD5 disco and occasionally we were averaging 38 miles to the gallon doing 60 -65mph.

But some sometimes when we were doing 70 to over take there was a miss fire/ soft patch in the acceleration for a second or two, then it picked up, this happened 4 or 5 times.

I have just had a new fuel pump and filter fitted.

Has anyone any ideas whats happenenig??

many thanks

bb

Dunno if this helps, but the TD5 is a fly by wire throttle in which the damping changes depending on what H/L ratio you are in.

There could be an electrical sensor problem in the mix?

We sussed out the problem...

It just needed a new clean airfilter, since this was replaced, we have had no problems.

But many thanks to evryone for their advice
