just bought a 90 v8 1st one
im putting a lift kit on it as it come with the 90
they said its a 3 " kit
ok the prob i got is what size wheels and tyres to fit as the one s on there will look lost but its got a set of wolf alloys which id like to keep but there 15 "
i was thinking 33 / 10.5 r 15
but i like the simex tyres
or insa turbo tread pattern
but size for 15 in is limited
so just wondering what you guys are running
with a lift
thanks
-
got a 2" lift on D44 spec OME shocks and springs
with extended bump stops
and 35x10.5 x16 Simex ET s on modulars with 30mm spacers
had to chop the arches a little and adjust the front lock stops
-
3" lift and ashcrofts rear 4 pin diffs 38" boggers
-
38 in thats hugh
pics would also help
-
265/85.75 cooper stt's, 3" lift and LLAMA 11"+ SHOCK KIT and Kenson 30mm spacers..
-
265/75r16 insa turbo's, rangie red/white springs, 2"+ front shocks and 4"+rear
-
What transfer ratio you running? I've put 4.1's in mine even with the 4.6 to keep the acceleration good.
265x75x16 is standard LR 90/110 large size so a 3inch lift isn't required :)
prob need props fiddled, caster corrected arms/bushes, possibly adjustable panhard rod.
The others will have more information for you, but I'd recon 35's in 15's US sizes so Mickey Thompsons, Coopers etc should be best bet for money.
I use Sahara's off and on road like them pretty much
Cheers

dont know what ratio im running standard i think
it is a 3.9 l with su carbs and auto box
-
here,s mine i only put them on for real mud days
-
damm didnt work i try again
-
tyres
-
tyre
-
at th moment bfg 35/12.5/15 on black m ods, but i think next change will be 37,s.
only used on road im afraid though.
3.9 v8 on carbs with standard 'brand spanking new gearboxes', and next week 'brand spanking axles'.
if your off in the mud, the bigger tyres will start to cost half shafts, diffs etc! eventually.

I was about to give you some light abuse for your comments there guardian, but i then realised that it is most probably the demo truck for your business. not just a chelsea tractor that you want to look 'aard in when going shopping.
-
yer its one of my trucks that hardly ever see mud!, not even been shooting in the fields with one for months, they just see miles of tarmac, but yes they do look 'ard'
i use the 110 as my car now its a goodun, only problem is the 10/11mpg but cannot have that great v8 sound, without, a great v8!
theres nothing chelsea about it, but PLENTY tractor
-
crack it on GAS
-
got a 2" lift on D44 spec OME shocks and springs
with extended bump stops
and 35x10.5 x16 Simex ET s on modulars with 30mm spacers
had to chop the arches a little and adjust the front lock stops
Same, except on Mach 5's
I ran 36" Simex's and a 4" lift on my red 90...ruined it
-
its on gas, thank god. :D
-
i think 38,s and bigger will be the future like the bogger pattern .Because its clear 38,s go where 35,s cant so to be on level playing you need to get the same. my boggers measure up 15" wide thats some grip.i no someone who is fitting 44" boggers :D
-
Now put them on ready for sundays fix :D
-
how do you find tyres that big, did you change any of the drive train to cope with the gearing, any uprated shafts etc to cope with the extra stress from them. any rubbing issues with only a 3 inch lift.
looks very cool with them fitted..
-
I got over the rubbing issue quite easy ,gearing not to much of a problem ,just have to cut the body about a bit the only real problem is 6" arch kits still dont cover the tread,The only major snag is people stare at it on the road not so keen on that,Oh yea i am going to try a bump stop that sits next to the shocks in fact it looks like you have two shocks but this one is adjustable to work as a stop
-
i have 33"x12.50"x15" ventures M/T's on my Disco200 i had to cut the bodywork quite a lot!! even with a 2" lift kit, it rubs like mad on full lock so i dont turn hard.
i normally stick to the discovery forum but damn, i want, no i ment i need a 90 with those 38's on it i wish i hadnt seen it know!!
nice trucks guys

275 70 16's, standard suspension, going bigger soon with 2 inch lift.
-
I had 265/75-16's on my TD5 90 with standard suspension.
I've got 37/12.5-16's on my D-Lander, hypoid Jack-Mac locking diffs, Jac Mac shafts, Ashcroft CV's, and a lot of power :D
-
305/70/16 bfg mt's on mine..with just a 2" lift
(http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v158/243/65/500155253/n500155253_1761118_184.jpg)
Will be going even bigger when I can afford the £750 for the ones that I want. plus the wheel spacers + extended wheel arches that will go with them..
-
on my offroader rangie (allegedly 2 inch lift) im running 265/75R16 insa special tracks which are big for 265's and ive trimmed the arches a bit.
on my road one ive got standard front springs and red/white rears im running 245/70R16's BFG AT.
-
hmm they look like they are wanting to eat some transmission lol
-
you dont really need a 3" lift it'll just upset everything else on the truck.
If you stick with standard height suspension and fit say 33" tyres it will look good as the tyres will fill the arches makin them look bigger still.
Half the time a 2" lift is just rock hard springs that are crap off road anyway.
I run 32" tyres on wiiiiide offset 8 spokes and still have standard springs with bags of travel. i have modded my rear wheelboxes but thats just because of the amount of travel i have.

265/75 machos or 235 /85 colway mt 11/2 lift :-k can't decide which are best cause when it muddy they both clog, macho have better road manners and are directional
