Has anyone any advice, information or any helpfull things to say, :?: on fitting an Isuzu 2.8 td engine into a 90 td. Why am I doing it? The 90 has a rather ancient Perkins fitted, pulls well but slow isn't the word. Why Isuzu engine? My Isuzu's chassis has expired  but the engine is good. :D Cheers in advance. :)

I use to have a Range Rover with one, when i rigged up a intercooler, it went really well, better than a tdi.
The conversion plates are available, ( Greenshields, in Somerset ).
They have fitted many into LR and RR.
A good engine, just watch the front crank pulley, known for coming loose.

Thanks Lofty. :) Do you have an address for them or phone number etc? :?:

My friend Pete recently fitted a Trooper 2.8 diesel engine to his V8 Petrol 90. I know he documented the conversion and would be more than happy to give you some advice.
PM me and I'll send you his email address

Finally got it fitted. :D Got the Engine Conversions kit plus special exhaust pipe to connect to the 90 exhaust. Only real problem was getting the gearbox drive shaft to enter the spigot bush. Just didn't want to know. Never had so much trouble. It just popped in, in the end. A mechanic mate sorted the wiring, (electrics NOT my strong point). So far only been down the lane and back but things are looking good. Runs well. Goes well. M.O.T. this week and back on the road. :D Still got things to do. Tidy up the plumbing. Fit an intercooler. Looking for one of a Saab. Hope to get it resprayed before Billing.

is this a back up recovery motor?
wouldnt mind havin a squint round it as my mate has a isuzu in his 110 & another runs a 2.8 in his 90 hillrally motor although the hillrally motor is tuned to the moon
-
No, not for recovery or serious off roading. It's my everyday vehicle and work horse. Been using it now for four days. Runs really smooth and quiet. I'm well pleased. :D Going for a price for a re-spray next week. Just can't decide on a colour. If you're going to Billing, ask at the Muddyweb stand or Mill Services stand. Down by the river. Tim, Joanne or Richard will know where I am.
