Title: Wheels/tyres for a series 3 109
Post by: skids66 on May 05, 2009, 20:42:27
Hi all,

we have a 1982 series 3 109 long wheel base, its reg document lists it as an ambulance, it is like a station wagon type.

Does anybody know if mk1 range rover wheels will fit this landy they are 205r16 , or indeed if it is safe to fit these wheels to it?

thanks in advance!

Anita

The holes in the wheels for the studs are in the same places for both the Series III and RRC and since I had 205 tyres on my 109" when I first got it I can quite easily say that they do fit, but I wouldn't advise it.

IMHO they are just way too small for a vehicle of its size.

I currently have a set of Michelin XZL 7.50x16's on mine that may be up for sale soon if you're interested.

Rostyles need modifying to fit the hubs of a series in them, the stud pattern isn't the problem!  Can be done but wouldn't bother.  205s are rubish on 109s, it'll bottem on everything and the speedo will be wrong.  Get some 7.50s or 235/85R16 (the latter should go on 6.5J rims, like 130 or wolf (watch the stud length) rims).
