Hi all,
As part of keeping body and soul together I had my tracking checked yesterday, it is toe in 1deg. The garage can't adjust till wed but to save time I was looking to free off the track control arm at home to keep costs down. It then occurs that if I'm undoing it I can sort of adjust it and they can check it for me. So laying on my back under the front of the car with it all freed off which way do I rotate the bar to make it shorter and how many turns will I need to get 2 degrees at the wheels?

think the old 110 workshop manual gives all the measurement for setting up tracking yourself, have you had a look see?

Somewhat worryingly I don't have a manual for it yet, very naughty of me I know.

Found a pdf of it so all good. Only needs 1 deg as it should be 0. Ok cool.

It depends on whish way round the bar has been fittted, it can be either way round IIRC so best to check. The tracking wants to be parallel to 3 degree toe out, toe out will help reduce steering kickback, parallel will increase turn-in, sharpness and steering feel. If it's lifted go for parallel.
When you tweak the tracking the steering wheel will centre to the left slightly. Annoying.

You're right the wheel has gone a tad lh down. Do i set too and adjust the drag link or can I just take off the wheel and move it a spline or two?

Stupid question off out to adjust drag link.

Depending on the model year there is a 7mm hole in the base of the steering box and a 7mm fork in the steering arm to set the box dead-ahead, if you are feeling pedantic.
Otherwise leave the steering wheel where it is and adjust the drag link by slightly more than half whatever you did to the track rod.
