Hi all :D , Can you help?
I have standard lights on my series 3 but would like to fit the Military type light to the front and rear. Do I need to cut bigger holes for them to fit? Is it a pain of a job to do? :-k
Thanks

From what I've seen the holes should be able to take either, the panels were not pressed special for the military ones, and often people will remove these military ones to fit the standard unit in there place

The military ones might look good but they're a lot more expensive (unless you live on base) and if you don't stick a self tapper through the jam jar thread on it's very easy for the lenses to be stolen. Also the threaded bacling plates that attach to the vehicle rust through and can be a right P.I.T.A.

a good dollop of grease on the outside "grip" area is another useful security measure but can be a bit self defeating when you need to change the bulb yourself ](*,)

Find someone who is rewiring a Sankey and scrounge the lights off them.
What is the socket they screw into? is itnot a standard LR light unit lke theold glassones screwed into?

Yes the metal frames are the same for both types if lenses, the old glass rubies as they were called or the bug-eye plastic ones
