On a mk1 disco does any one know how or where you can pick up the "live"
of off on what I presume is the aux light switch on the main console?
If so what colour does it become in the loom on engine bay side?
Thats as clear as mud i know but I think my disco has had aux light before so hope fully all i gotta do is hook it up

braver than me to ask that

Right firstly is that switch to the side of the dials on the dash (the one marked up as lights)for aux lighting?
-
I think all the circuits for side, dip and main lights are blue with various trace colours. Why not get one of those 12 volt test screwdrivers and go a prodding.

-

-
yes but it might be the same, since a dont have a 200 to look at i cant be 100% sure given a 200 & some time i would b able to find it for you

like i said mate ive got wot looks like a "origanal fitment" console switch and i was wondering if any one knew how to "pick up" the wires ?( as in what colour to look for) so as to go with this switch and not fit a nasty after market number!
-
try pulling out the switch and check the wiring behind there.
-
i have and it doesnt match up to antthing in the engine bay

I also have a disco 1 my switches along the top are rear demister, rear fogs, then on the other side at the top I have rear wash then rear wipe.
The bottom row of switches are for the original fit radio, I think they were seek, volume up and down and something else, not having the original radio I have been slowly using them up for other things. but the original wires were thin and were black, brown, blue red and I think one is white. Do these correspond to anything you have ? Wondered if the previous ownser got hold of a switch and started fitting extras like I have. I now have one for an extra set of front lights and one for a old fashioned horn.
