Title: Steel 8 spokes
Post by: xmob on March 03, 2005, 21:21:08
Stupid question (maybe), and one that I could answer myself if I could be prepared to go outside, but it's cold and dark.

Will the white 8 spokes I have for my Series III fit my 200tdi Disco?  It'd solve the argument I'm currently having with SWMBO about these tyres I bought off digsit.  She doesn't want them, I do.

Yes but the offset of the 8spokes will be different - will need to adjust your lockstops and the tyres may catch the arches on articulation.

Not quite as easy as fitting the 8 spokes when I drive, and the alloys when SWMBO drives then.

Can I get spacers or something?

Yes but it would be cheaper to buy another set of wheels

B***er!  Maybe if she gets a puncture in a couple of her current tyres, she'll change her mind.

Put the tyres on RRC alloys, about £10 each.  That way you solve the arguament AND stop weraing out your best MTs going shopping.  I must admit I don't like driving on road with the MTs on, even ignoring the fact that I'm not a fan of remoulds.  The car just slides around on road, it's actually worse with the anti-roll bars on too
