Title: V8 TOP END TAPPING - ADVICE PLEASE !!
Post by: SPIKEY on November 01, 2004, 20:36:46
Hi All.
Recently my '88 3.5 E.F.I. has developed a top end tap.

I have flushed and changed the oil,and the problem is still there.
Will it be tappets, the cam or the pushrods ?

Any advice will be welcome.

Cheers,

SPIKEY.

its your tappets mate; sump on the old ranges did not hold alot of oil so unless its changed often you get worn tappets! just had the same problem solution: do it yourself or: get it done [300+vat new tappets, camshafts and chains] or 90pence ear plugs. its your call! hope thats helped.

Thanks for the reply weld-king.
