On my 1990 3.9efi Auto the high/low lever is solid. Seized through lack of use i expect. How do I go about freeing it off, I know rock-all about working on Rangies so please spell it out simple.--Tony :( :(

Plenty of WD on the linkages, but they are a git to get to :( can get to them from underneath if your flexible :) was enough to free mine up, had only been used for towing and on road felt solid, soaked it and left it overnight then gave it some pressure the next day, worked fine since then.

Try this link(age   )
It's Discovery related, but pre Td5 Discoverys are to all intents & purposes the same mechanically

Hope it helps, it helped me to diagnose a siezed bushing in the top-turret of the transfer-box.
I got a replacement for £5.00 from a LR transmission reconditioner, the only other cost was a few self-tappers to replace the drilled out rivets.

Thanks for all the input, I got it free by using the "Ring Key on the lever & brute force" method. Will get underneath with my paraffin spray gun + rubber tube+penetrating oil & give it a good dowsing.---Tony
