i have at the moment 31. 10.5 15 colway ctrax on my disco 1 with black modulars
my tyres are brown bread as of the perishing of the whole tyre .
anyway my dilemma is i bottomed out on the diffs a while back and as i am buying new tyres i am thinking of going up to 16" rims and 265/75/16 tyres
but my wheels are in perfect nick so was just wondering if yous think i should stick with the 15"'s and do you have any idea and the 15inch tyre size i could go for to get me some more height ??
or am i best gettin the 16's
thanks for any input ...

hi, right, the size of the rims is accademic as it is the tyres that really matter. if you have a 31 inch tall tyre then that iis how tall it is never mind the size of the rim supporting it. your 31/10.5/15 is the same height as my 750r16 or a 235/85r16 or a 265/75r16, though allowance must be made for different makes being measured differently by their makers. as for rrubbing diffs on the floor you are at about the max height a disco will stand without fairly drastic body chopping but if you want to go down that path then 35 inch tyres can be made to fit.

I had 265's on my disco, and they rubbed the body work, so i had to stick a 2" lift kit on it.

Hi I put 265 75 16 on my disco which already had a 2" lift kit when I went to harbury pay'n'play they still rubbed the arches on rear so then had to cut arches anyway
