How many people have got these on a Defender?
Ive sat one next to mine, with 235 85 16's on and they look massive :)
Is there any issues with steering lock?
-
I have them on the 110 and no issues, however I didn't fit them so can't swear the steering stop wasn't adjusted. My limited knowledge suggests that they are one of the "standard" sizes for 90/110
-
I do...near as damn same height as 235/85x16 just 30mm wider. Not an issue with steering lock...may need to adjust the locks stops slightly if they catch. :D
-
I have them on my old 110 fitted to 7x16 'modulars'. The fill the standard arches perfectly. Mine didn't need any lock stop adjustment, but some vehicles might.
-
Had them as standard fit onmy 90, wasn't any problems with them.
-
iv got them 8)

See they must be good MF has two sets ;)
-
I've got them on my 130 and no probs whatsoever
-
BFGs in this size have at times been offered as an optional tyre by Land Rover.

i wish

I have them too. :D :D :D :D

got em on mine, just neded slighty adjustment to the lock stops
-
Optional size fitted by LR, even has the correct tyre pressures for when fitted to a 90 in the owners handbook.
No problems with steering lock.

I'm running 265/75*16 cooper STTs fitted to standard boost alloys on my 110. Steering stops have had to be adjusted - lock is not good now -and there is also some rubbing on the upper suspension mounts at the rear.
These tyres come out wider than the equivalent BFGs which may explain
the rubbing at the rear.
You should also be aware that 265s are not a recommended fit on 100s because the side walls are not strong enough. 265s are usually 6 ply whereas 235s are 9 ply.
The offset is too large (at 33mm) on boost alloys so, with modulars, you might not get the same rubbing issues.

if your buying new 255/85 is a slightly nicer size. gives you more clearence under the diffs and is about 33" without the stupid width to stop you on that firm grass.
-
I've got them on mine, had to take a fiar bit of steering lock off though. Pic as signature..
-
No probs on my 90 with Modulars (7x16).
-
Ive got the coopers sst on mine and put wheel spacers on because the lock was crap.
-
I was just about to post this question about 265/75/16's. I want to put BFG AT's on my 300TDi 90 but on Alloys, seems to be mixed opinion if they will be OK on Boost rims. Can anyone confirm please?
-
See my previous reply about this (in the same post). That's the setup I have albeit on a 110. There is some rubbing at the rear (suspension top mounts) and the steering stops have been wound back to stop rubbing on the trailing arms. Steering lock, which is never good, is a lot worse!
I've resisted fitting wheel spacers because the wheels would stick out too far. Long term option is probably a replacement wheel with a smaller offset.

My 90 left L/R dealer with 265/75 R16 on freestyle alloys when new. Never had any problems with the tyres rubbing.
