Suppose i better ask as weve owned the freelander now almost 5 years lol
Can anyone tell me why when i unlock swmbo`s freebie the bleeper thingy goes off sumtimes and other times it doesn`t?
doesnt matter if u press the unlock once or twice its either bleeping at ya till u start the engine or it isnt? just wondered what it is? anyone else have this?
its a 98 s model nothing fancy

It's a standard sized battery - CR2032 IIRC - and I got one in Morrisons for about £2. The LR (st|d)ealer want ~£5 for one!

Damn I am going to try that on mine. i just thought it was the seat belt moving as it doesnt recoil properly sometimes :oops:
However my daughter thinks its great as i can make it stop just by saying the magic word.. and turning the ignition on at the same time (she is only 5!!)

hmm, one to try as my new one bleeps at me when I unlock and get in and isn't quiet until ignition key is turned to II. I brought 5 of the batteries off ebay for the Disco fob, so I think I'll try this.

many thanks from myself and the chap down the road who also has a Freelander. New battery fitted and no annoying beeping when unlocking the car :D
