Title: Terrano 2 Auto box - refilling
Post by: robbie on February 10, 2009, 11:22:37
My mate has an issue with his auto box. A mate of his drained the radiator to resolve a water leak on the water pump and inadvertantly drained the gearbox oil whenhe disconnected hoses.

What is the principle of refilling the box now?? Does it have to go into a garage or can it be completed by a good DIYer??

It can be done at home ;)I will try & find out how much oil you'll need (ATF IIRC) the filler plug should be near the top of the box like most g/boxes but i'm not sure which side it is as i've got a manual box

thanks for the info, my mate did see in a manual that it needed to be put in with some sort of pressure thing!!! Not quite sure what it meant, I have always thought it could just be topped up and 'job done'....

But any info for doing the job would be greatfully accepted and I wait with bated breath :)

cheers
