Spotted this in Donnington Services just off M1 near the A50.

Also seen this (or it's stable-mate) stationary on the M62 east-bound between jct 26 & 27.

Still don't think they're as good as the old BMC Mini in terms of the 'modifications' carried out

Jaffa
Duckhams Oil Can
Caburys Cream Egg
Dalek
Lots of mega V8 engined specials

Red Bull used Beetles previously. They are regularly used at shows around the country and I think the reps use them. It would put me off applying for a job there if I had to drive around it that!

As a Classic Mini parts specialist, I couldn't agree more  :D  The new MINI (not Mini officially!) is purely aimed at a market that BMW didn't want to get a BMW badged car into at the time. It gave them the ability to test the super mini sector without actually putting their name on it. It was a ready made product (original design by Rover) and, in any case, they had to claw some money back from all the funds they poured into Rover over the previous 9 years. So, it gave them everything they needed. Shot themselves in the foot, though, when the early build quality was such an embarrasment.

Despite my dislike of most things BMW (possible exception 3.0 CSL :) ), I have to admit that MG Rover would not exist today if it weren't for them. MG Rover was losing far less when it was sold off than it was when BMW took it on. And it nearly broke BMW in the process.

Mentioning MG-Rover, I had a look at the ZT-V8 on Friday at the main dealer in Wakefield.
Looks good with those 4 big stainless tail-pipes. Sadly no Sales staff around to be persuaded to fire it up for me.
