Title: "FIll Her Up!!"
Post by: Bush Tucker Man on September 23, 2006, 21:01:50
Whist I believe pictures of this 'pick-up' have appeared on here before, my attention was redrawn to it by a comment in the motoring supplement of the 'Yorkshire Post' this morning

XT family (http://www.internationaldelivers.com/site_layout/xtfamily/index.asp)

The text was as follows (bold text is my addition);
'A huge pick-up truck in the USA boasts the biggest fuel tank of any car on the road.
The International CXT has a 276litre fuel tank (60.7 gallons!) and this will cost in excess of £250 to fill up (At UK prices )
The vehicle, a 6-cylinder turbo-diesel averages a mere 8MPG overall.
It means its range is 488miles (for 60 gallons!!!!!!)

And the Tree-Huggers complain about U K4x4s :shock:

I don't want to boast (well OK, of course I do), but I can take 450L on the 101 - that's nearly half a tonne.

110l in the fuel tank, 240L in the jerry can holders, and 100L of LPG.

Yes, costs a fortune to fill up, but I've only once had to fill it from scratch, and that was in Guinea!  Total range about 1400km on that.

Nah, you're OK - apparently it has special environmentally-friendly diesel technology (http://www.greendieseltechnology.com).  So that's fine then.

They've tested it by holding a hanky up to the exhaust.  And it comes out clean, so that means there's no emissions.  I am not making this up.

When they say trailers they mean something similar to what we see behind an articulated vehicle in this country :wink:

we managed 300l of petrol in the 101 plus LPG, but that was to last us 1000km off tarmac. can't beat the 101 and a half though
