Title: Disco blower motor
Post by: burgerman on February 26, 2008, 21:14:44
Getting bored of being steamed up now, as my interior blower motor doesnot work :(,   I am under the impresion that its a dash out job  But i think i remembered that i read somewhere that it can be done  with dash in place  [-o<

there is no coolant loss or anything nasty, just no blower motor,   Any clues if its possible ??

  P.S its a 1991 V8 manual

On that year TDi its a dash out job. I would imagine that the V8 would be the same.

Bearing in mind on a 1992 tdi you have to split the heater casing apart to change the heater motor i would say it would be a dash out job!

Not too bad a job, just a few screws and wires to remove/ disconnect ;)

have you checked the Vacuum from the brake servo to the heater (looks like washer hose) mine did that and found the hose was disconnected from the back of the heater, and had rubrish Brakes easy to connect if it hasnt got AC but with AC its Dash Out  :'(

To change the blower motor it is indeed a dash out job

I've done my 200TDi and its time consuming but not difficult. Try and look at it from the passenger footwell, I did this and could see the casing had melted :-k so I got myself a complete heater box from ebay (£10 inc postage ) and fitted that.

When you remove the dash itself its handy to have a mate, saves you breaking it in half!

Incidentally I believe I also have a couple of heater motors! If I remember I'll have a look. I definately have a complete box from a 200 that I'm about to break!
