Hi Darren!  NO you should'nt Think so! As you shoud have plenty of excess hose available for your articulation as standard!
It's only where you go higher? that is 2 or 3 inches!

Hi Darren,

I've got 1" spacers under my springs and everything is OK, no worries.

Frank,

Is that 'all you've done' (not wanting to sound rude).

I would like a little more clearance, and the opportunity to fit bigger tyres but I'm restraigned by SWMBO who wants it to remain standard....

1 inch spacers could easily be slotted in whith her not noticing (2", 3", and 4" etc would be easily spotted).

All i want to do is fit the 1 inch spacers

Her indoors has only short legs if I put a 2or 3 inch lift I'll have to take a ladder with me!!

BTW Frank what size muds do you run ??

I have a 1" lift (by springs) and use 235/85x16 BFG Mud Terrains. I did trim the rear arches as a matter of course, but I'm fairly sure you have to if you want to go off-road

No extended brake hoses, but I still have my anti-roll bars on.

Gordon

Do you have any pictures of where you trimmed?

Cheers

I have a 1" lift via spacers and have not lengthened the brake hoses, i have 265/75x16,s fitted, had to trim the rear arches but they are fitted to disco steels so there is not alot of offset ao they dont foul the front wings but they do touch the front turrets on full articulation
Having helped Jake fit a 2" lift to his 300tdi the other day the rear brake lines are ok if on road but would be very tight on any sort of articulation so it looks like he will fit extended lines

Pardon    Oh, you mean the arches!

I used pictures supplied by Mace, which I'm sure that I have anymore. Have a look at this post (http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=8520&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=arch&start=15&p=87444#87444) as it describes it pretty well.

Here are before trim (http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/gords/gallery/suspensionlift/0/962981-1117403848./) and post trim (http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/gords/gallery/suspensionlift/0/335492-1118781984./) pictures.

I seem to remember Mace said 1" in at the bottom of the arch - but I ended up doing 2" - I think it looks fine

Similar to what everyone else has said...

I have 1" spacers (WizardBilt (http://www.wizardbilt.com/)) and 235/70/16 BF Goodrich AT's fitted.  No pipe changes, or trimming.

It's not so much the springs as when you fit longer dampers as these control the droop travel.

Thanks for the advice I have decided what I am going to do

New HD springs and Shocks all round, 1 inch spacers from Wizard and fit Amozon muds 235/85/R16

Hopefully this will give me about a 1.5 Inch on the diff clearance and an inch on the body clearance (with new springs i am expecting more as SWMBO says every little helps  )

If you're getting new springs and shocks, why don't you get +1" springs & shocks rather than using spacers?

Don't forget to trim your rear arches   Actually, I didn't realise that you could get Amazons in 235/85x16!

Very quick gords

I have got a slightly different size 235/70/16 Could fit with out the lift but putting spacers due to the cost

Tyres for a set of 4 £160 www.g-p-c.co.uk Barry also done a deal on a snorkel cheaper than paddocks

Err, oh :?

Your post said you'd ordered the tyres (235/85x16), with springs coming later this week. If you're buying new springs then you could get +1" ones and not bother with the spacers!?

Am I missing something :?  (very much possible  )
