Well next week im going off roading and would like to know how i can make my v8 efi better in water.... it has some really bad innertube just folder round the distrubtor but is there anything else i should do? I also have a snorkel but is there anywhere in paticular that needs some waterproofing!
And i shall take some pics!
Sam

V8s are either no worries or big worries in water, as long as its not DEEP water it should be alright with WD40 on all the electrics, u can use motorbike chain lube as it gives a thick waterproof coating, the biggest issue will be the front fan, as it hits water oit will spray water all over the engine.

I have more trouble from the coil than anything else in mine, nothing that a quick squirt of wd40 doesn't sort out though.
I do need a snorkle though, I sucked up a bit of water the other day!

If anybody knows a good source for 8-fingered latex gloves, they could come in handy :)

Tuff Toys do a coil & dizzy waterproofing set... (http://www.tufftoys4x4.co.uk/asp/product.asp?product=544&ph=search&keywords=Distributor&recor=1&SearchFor=any&PT_ID=all) they can be prone to melting if things like vaseline or other greases get on them... but I've had some success... [-o<
The other thing is make sure your leads are in top notch order... was very embarresing my very first off road trip with Impala... and there everyone was... on the top of a welsh hillside... in the dark... looking at Blackpool illuminations after I'd tried to drive my 1984 RRC through a deep puddle!
