Hi guys i have an 03 auto TD5 and just recently when i go to start her up i just get a clicking sound, after turning the key a few times she turns over ok and starts. This problems has been going on for a few weeks intermitantly but has now started to happen regularly is the starter on the way out.

Yup, sounds like the starter solenoid is on it's way out. Same happened to mine. Best to get it sorted before it finally gives up.

Read somewhere that its just a case of replacing the copper contactors, does anyone know if this is true and is it an easy fix.
-
Yes that right... It's quite a straight forward job, Repair kits are available on ebay
-
Repair kit ordered, doing the the repair on Saturday morning

Job done, took longer to get the top nut off the starter than it did to fit the new parts to the solenoid, to say the top nut is a pain in the harris is an understatement, spins over like a good un again.
-
Yeah the top nut is fun, Glad your sorted :azn:
-
Yeah well done land rover not only do they hide the top nut they change the bloody size to a 15 mm  you only get caught out once
