What are you after?  What's your price range.

There's a big difference between a wreck 404 to a U500. You want deisel, petrol, PTO's hydraulics?

im un decided in what i want.

anything that tickles my fancy, a 900 or 411 or 1600 with 3 way tipper, old-new it doesnt matter. if i find a rolling chassis with cab then i'll maybe make a mental gaged rock crawler. or if i find a good truck i'll use it for work and hauling machinery.
Im easy lol.

Budget depends on the vehicle, if i like it and theres potential then i'll pay what its worth.

So dx your the man in the know about mercs, where are they all hiding?

If you want a toy, that'll be a 404.

An implement carrier, than you'll be looking for a 406 - 416

A light duty workhorse then a u100

A day in day out tractor then a u1000....

Just double the price for each model up.  The 2 door cabs are small, especially the round bodied mogs, round bodied doka's are rare, but the space in the 4 door is a different league to the 2 door.  404's are by far the easiest to work on, and they will just sneak in on a 3.5 tonne trailed below gross weight. The 406's (u900's) are about 5 tonne on their own iirc.

If I had a spare 10K I'd get a u100L, I do like them, and they will do 30mpg. Get yourself over to benzworld though. Oh don't buy a do er up er mog what ever you do !! Get something which is mechanically sound and as little rust (they all have it) as possible on the cab. Really, don't think you'll be able to pick up a wreck and put it back  on the road without spending 4x what buying one in good condition would cost.

Oh if you want a 404 with PTO's, Hydraulics, On board air, 6 seats.... slip me 6K and I'll get out a loan for the rest for a u100L ;)

i draged a D plate unimog into east anglia vehicle auction at wymondham (norfolk)...i think it was a 1400..but dont qoute me on that...all i know is it was a pain in the ass as i couldnt get the rear brakes to lift off to start with so it didnt want to go anywhere!

it had a rear mounted hiab, tipping body and was ex national grid...it had just been serviced 9 months ago and then taken off the road as it had a bent front bumper...

if you buy it and need it delivering let me know!
