Hi all.
I am being tempted into the world of shoguns. If my disco doesnt buck its ideas up about mpg and towing that is!!!
I am thinking more along the lines of L reg ish shape type ones, definately diesel manual lwb.
What are the costs of such a beast ie spare parts and easily accessible on getting them or not and knowledge. also what kind of mpg do they do?
I have seen one on ebay which needs a small amount of work and then an mot.

I have done a insurance search as I was confused.com (sorry) and it came up as about the same as the disco to insure.
Anyone tow a twin axle caravan with thiers? does it tow well? Can you get dixon bate tow bars for it as I HAVE to be able to fit my shock link for my caravan.

Disco mpg about same as 2.5 Shoggy the 2.8 not much better than v6 petrol 20ish on a good day, parts easy to come by but prices will shock you compaired to Landy prices, i found my Paj nice to drive and very comfy -not as good off road as the Disco they seem to belly in easly, dont know about towing cant see why they shouldnt tow well,

so not much better then really than the disco and worse for parts prices. bummer.

Yep, worse for parts prices but you won't need as many parts as running a Landy so it works out the same and there are plenty of second hand parts available.
Best way to run a Shogun economically is to have one like mine, 3.0 V6 on LPG. I get about 18 MPG but with LPG at 56p a litre thats equivelant to nearly 40 MPG on petrol. I had a Landy 90 and there is no way I would go back to the green oval mate :D :D :D

Yea tis true you wont need parts on a regular basis like the green/oval, in fact in 18 months of owning the Paj only spent out on a service + a blanking plate for the EGR, :-k :-k

If you tow with it you will never go back to a disco
I know someone who has just upgraded his van to a 24' twin axle and is towing it with a 2.5 SWB with no problems
Seeing you will be looking for a 2.8 or a V6 petrol you'll have no problems towing whatsoever
