Title: Tipping front seat problem
Post by: Llanigraham on December 16, 2006, 16:53:34
Help!!
Tried to tip the passenger seat of my car today and it appears to be jammed. Lever on the seat goes up, but catch at the bottom doesn't want to let go!

Looked in the Haynes manual, but nothing.

Does anyone know how it works, how to get at it, and how to cure it?
Exploded diagram would be useful.

try and release the catch manualy, then when the seat is up, try the lever.
you will probably find it is cable operated, and the cable has either snapped or come off it's mounting

good luck

How do you get to the catch?

Had a look earlier and couldn't see a bl**dy thing!

don't actually know in a freebie, but on all my other cars that have had folding front seats, you had to climb into the back and have a good grope around under the seat, around the runners

Problem found!
The cable to the middle side of the seat, (the longest one) it's clip has broken and is sliding up and down.
Anyone know the part number of this?
No3 in the diagram.
