Title: X Trail query
Post by: Merlin on August 03, 2007, 17:29:12
Hi, in the process of buying a year old 2.2 X Trail.  Three of the last four touring holidays with the caravan we have come home on the back of "Britannia Rescue"'s recovery vehicle so it's definatly time to up-grade from my 1990 Range Rover Classic.
What I want to know is when the X Trail is in 2 wheel drive is it front or rear wheel drive?
Cheers,
Merlin.

Sorry to dampen your day,

They are FRONT WHEEL drive!! Unless a little slippage is encountered then 4 wheel drive. These things are basicly a Primera with big wheels.

Yep, front wheel drive. You can put it in 2 wheel drive or auto meaning its front wheel drive and the rear wheels get power if necessary, and its got a 4wd lock switch too. Its no land rover but they are better than the CRV's and RAV4's off road.

If your original sale falls through for any reason i have 7 2.2 dci Aventura (top spec) models with full leathers and satnav for sale with delivery mileages pre registered 07 platers for £17500 on the road, new is £24470 + RFL and reg fee so quite a saving, and also a columbia spec with satnav a bit cheaper.

Well finally took my x off road and loved it, not the same as my landy because I fear more damage since its nearly new! But quite capable off road, just not sure about clearance due to the exhaust being very low when front tips up, other wise lovely - just have to remeber to lock the 4wd, haven't really gone wading yet and not too sure how deep to go....any ideas??? the only thing is the air in take in the grill - seems a silly place really?
