is there ever a meet in the norfolk area?
-
breckland have meets i think, but norwich 4x4 dont have any, we just prefer to meet up at pay and play days or greenlaning we sometimes stop for lunch together. no point driving for miles if you aint gonna get muddy ha ha
-
We have in the past.
We started pub meets and would get up to 30 members at times. But it dwindled down and when only 2 of us were turning up, we decided to drop it! It has been attempted again on a couple of occasions since, but the numbers turning up tend to be very few.

Like Steve said, we have tried it before and it just died off however there is another regular meet in the area, not a Mud Club one, but the 'Rhinos (http://broadlandrhinos.co.uk/). It's on the first Friday every month at Salhouse Lodge

Not to hijack a thread or anything.... but..
I'm moving to Norfolk for work at the minute, so any guide to decent lanes/pay and play/ landrover supplies would be muchly appreciated! [-o<

Hi, and welcome to Norfolk, soon!! There are a few decent lanes, but depends where you will be living as to where they are! There are a few P&P sites, eg. Dersingham, Three Holes, etc, but just keep and eye out for anyone doing meets for P&P. Have a look at N4x4OC (http://www.norwich4x4ownersclub.co.uk (http://www.norwich4x4ownersclub.co.uk)) They usually organise around 1-2 meets a month, with P&P every month..
LR supplies are readily available in Norwich (JSF Land Rover http://www.jsf4x4.co.uk (http://www.jsf4x4.co.uk)) or in Fakenham, (TJC Land Rover http://www.tjclandrovers.co.uk/default.htm (http://www.tjclandrovers.co.uk/default.htm))

-
Appologies non land rover owners lol
-
Nothing like replying a little late....
But V8 I've now moved to just south of Norwich somewhere near Long Stratton and Wymondham!
The land Rover might even be working again soon to use locally!
-
Ah, you are really close to me then! I'm just south of Bunwell, about 3 miles west of Long Stratton. Let me guess, one of the Forncett's maybe?
One off road site we used to use was up at Runhall, near Dereham. Sadly, the owner passed away a couple of years ago and the site was shut.
There are a few off road sites, but most are pre-booking, not pay and play.
There's Bures, down near Sudbury. Quite a large site, but can get very busy. That's the polite way of saying it can get full of numpties charging around!
As for lanes, there are many miles in the west of the county, extending south into Suffolk. All generally mild lanes, many with good surfaces. There are a few that can get gloopy in the winter, so they should be avoided during wet months to minimise damage.

I'm actually in Tasburgh, small enough not to really be here! (Just north of Long Stratton)... I was in Attleborough for a while but it's just too busy.... :undecided:
Bunwell rd to Attleborough is a good hoot in the normal car!
It sounds like there's a bit around then, I'll have to get out and explore! MAybe not as much or as hilly as my home Derbyshire tho
Hopefully i'll see your Landy out soon!
