HI guys, just about to start changing the flange on the rear diff, it is true that i will need a spacer for the new prop? It has been lifted 2".
cheers
Matt.

No mate no spacer needed. What you up to tomorrow
-
if you fitting a 4 bolt flange instead of the 3 bolt then yes, you will need a spacer ring.
-
 Even if the flange on the diff has been changed for a 4 bolt type from a 200tdi ?
-
Depends on the flange you are fitting, there's a 49mm high and a 61mm high flange - you need a 539745 pinion washer if you're fitting the shorter flange, goes over the pinion before you fit the flange.
If I remember, I think you have the longer flange Matt but a tape measure to check the overall height will sort it.

I brought a brand new flange that didnt require spacer, and it came with a new seal

Cheers Guys, for your reply's. I went ahead with the job and I had bought the one which didn't need the spacer.
Sorry Mike just read your reply, It wasnt a bad job to do.
The worst bit was getting the old seal out without scoring the sides.
Cheers again.
