Title: Series 1?
Post by: 07DefenderSeb on February 22, 2007, 15:35:16
Does anyone have any good ideas for sourcing a Series 1 LR?
Other than waiting for one on eBlag and private ads, can anyone recommend/suggest any other sources?
Little dealers, old people with one stashed away?

Many thanks,

SB

i have a complete one! needs a restore 1955 hard top! non runner but all there! unsure what to do with it at the moment i have all paper work for it too. my opions are to restore it or brake it and mod it heavily body wise and make a coiler!

could be open to sensible offers! i could get it to heysham / liverpool easily!

i love the look of the series 1 thou, and a few years back (coughs nearly 8 years ago) tghere was a article in lro or the other one of a guy that built a series1 on a range rover chassi lowered the roof by about 9 inches it was a pick up with rangie running gearr powered by a 3.9 with the full kit lockers etc etc and i always promised myself i'd build one. I would feel hard in doing it as they are rare. hense its not be done yet. hard call from my point of view.

We have a 1950 series 1 that were gonna restore back into a CCV trialer as that what it has spent it's previous life doing. To top it all it has a 6 cylinder in it too. and i'm told that when it was running it acheived 70 MPH off road.

I might get it road legal and Q plate it and then go race some chavs. I'm sure the look on their faces as will be priceless.

i Know a few tucked away in barns and garages but the owners don't want to let them go.
