Title: If money was no object...
Post by: Jake on February 04, 2006, 14:34:35
What vehicle would you have?
i.e if you won the lottery
(i keep my fingers crossed for the Euromillions  [-o< )

Personally, I'd buy a brand new D3 and drop it off at Devon 4x4 and ask for it to be prepared for competition.
I'd pick it up again a couple of months later.
Hopefully it'll have been bob'd, lifted, 36" Simex, winches front and back and totally bespoke bumpers and protection, cage and all the toys a comp motor should have.
I think the total project would cost in the region of 100k
Thats the off roader sorted.

Now for a Range Rover Sport. Which i'd hand to Overfinch.

Well, i can dream cant i?

Without hesitation...

Ferrari 250GT SWB Berlinetta ..... Soooooo agonisingly beautiful, it could make you cry  8)

But just the small matter of the million or so they fetch..... as you say, if money was no object  :(

3. Bowler Straycat (See March's LRW)

I'd have to break the habit of a lifetime & buy a lottery ticket, but here goes;

AC Cobra 427SC (still a car not to be ignored in terms of performance)

1969 Dodge Charger 440R/T (orange, what other colour  )

1970 Dodge Challenger 426 'Hemi' (the 'Vanishing Point 'car)

1968 Ford Mustang GT390 (the 'Bullitt' Mustang)

Bentley Continental 'T' (or an Arnage)

Ford model B ('Deuce Coupe',  like John Milners in 'American Graffiti' (http://community.webshots.com/photo/96564302/1102907697047309372qjpLQN))

Thorneycroft Antar

Rotinoff Atlantic

101 FC (but coil-sprung, 130 axles, higher geared & a GMC V8 diesel)

'Renown' (http://community.webshots.com/photo/355749979/1355755072047309372UsFEnb) (Fowler #15653)

Jaguar XJR (V8 supercharged, for 'wafting about')

Ducati 916 (the epitome of 2-wheeled art)
I've just got to have 'Little & Large' (http://community.webshots.com/photo/149735865/1149738729047309372GaTcwm)

And at least 10 B*W's to systematically destroy in any way I think of

I'd buy the three houses opposite my m8, the two next to him and the three behind them and then rent them out to Indians.

That just might teach him to accept that there are good and bad in all races and he might just stop being so blinkered!

Then I'd turn off the heating and go down the pub.  I'd leave the wife an extra jumper so she didn't get cold though .... I'm not cruel!

Hee hee, I like your style!! :(biglaugh):
My money no object vehicle would be a Bowler Wildcat. I'd also buy a nice bit of land (Kirton Lindsey quarry) and some houses for my mates to live in, a nice house for me, and I'd spend some of my millions building hospitals and schools in Africa, oh, I'd probably cut to part-time working hours too :(contented):

Mine would be a 2 x Bowler wildcats, one with the V8 and the other with a TD5 and of cause trailers by a new G4 Disco 3.  Ow yes and something for the wife   say a supercharged Rangy sport, not forgetting the new house and fully equipped Garage (with Ramp)....I could go on.... :D

That is nice, a 68??

There's a 68 convertible on the road I take to the Hospital, sadly I've never got a photo of the front.
I'll have to ask nicely when I se the owner out with it

But with all that serious metal (veyron, zonda, CCR, etc) one would end up being favourite and the others would just get 'boring'..... but I would like to get bored like that too

I'd buy a piece of scotland, about half should do, then fill it full of landies and have a massive pay and play site, with a bit of deer stalking on the side.
As u can see, i'm easily pleased. :D  :D  :D

I would have an Aston Martin either DB9 or Vanquish.  But only if I can see over the steering wheel.I would send The Disco in and get a chassis up rebuild.I,m not a fan of the D3 .My 200 Tdi is great old beast.

This might sound boring but
a series 1 in need of work
and a freelander shell + RRchassis and V8 as an off roading toy
the size of the garage is more important, ramp, rolling road air equipment (got the tools) and a good industrial heater as i have worked in to many cold garages
OH and enough space to test drive the odd vehicle, doesn't have to be well maintained space as i am willing to cut my own course through the rough 8)
