Title: ford ranger air-con
Post by: aaron on July 15, 2007, 20:37:40
The air-con on my ford ranger packed up the other day, there is no power at the fuse and therefore the pump is not cutting in! Any ideas anybody :?:

Nice and easy. You are out of a/c charge. No refrigerant = no engagement. How old is it?

Its a 52 reg. So is there some sort of cut off system, so the pump cannot cut in if the system has lost its charge. I just find it weird that there is no power at the fuse??????????

i would have thought that there should be power at the fuse as if the gas has gone it should cut the feed to the compressor not to the fuse?

Power the air con clutch solenoid and it will cut in. A Disco with no a/c coolant won't fire the a/c fans or lock the a/c clutch. 52 will benefit from a recharge - £60 max, or £20 for a check over.
