Oh dear, look what I've gone and come home with this time!! Isn't she beautiful?
Question for all you series buffs, What's with the steel roof? I thought landy's had always had ally panels??

The roof on my TD5 is steel.  I know 'cos there's a magnetic GPS aerial stuck to it

normally the roof panels are ally, but the support for it (most edges) is steel strip or angle. your roof looks like the state of my chassis!!!

there where some army prototypes that where developed for radio fitment that had a steel roof, have a look at the under carrage it may give you some clues cos the cross members are slightly different to a standard series. keep us informed i am interested to know what the out come is:D

Most def a steel roof, all of it! What are the differences crossmember wise coz she needs a liberal sprinkling of those. Also has some sort of tank under the drivers side wing and fittings at the back for (I think) air braked trailers. Also a vaccum gauge on the dash. Seems to be that the tank on the wing is connected to the inlet manifold not sure what it's all about. She wont get touched for a good six months at the very least. Got other more pressing issues at the mo'
