Title: will sherpa diesel to series 2a petrol go?
Post by: Leatherman on June 07, 2005, 18:21:05
I have the chance of a 1991 sherpa diesel engine and would ilke to stick it in my 1968 series 2a petrol.
I have been told this is a common swap and pretty straight forward, is this the case?
My mechanical knowledge is limited, but that aint stopped me in the past!!
Any one with any info on this please give me a shout as the most basic advice would be most welcome.
thanks

if it's the old frieght rover 2.5 yes fits straight on to gearbox, from memory the 9.5inch clutch plate fits on the flywheel, but would need to be the series 2a type clutch plate with the boss in the middle of the pressure plate.
