Is it possible to put a leisure battery in as a car battery (i am a girl and take full responsability for the stupid question!!!! ha ha ha)

In an emergency yes.
For normal use, no.

Thanks, recently bought a shogun and it already has a leisure battery on, will rock my bank balance and fork out for a new battery, could a leisure battery effect the starting of a car, I was looking to put new glow plugs on as its a bit sluggish, might it perk up with a new battery?
-
Yes.
A leisure battery can't supply the high currents needed for starting a car - it'll kill the battery as well. They are designed for deep cycling, like running lights in a caravan for a week between charges.
Put a new battery on and you'll be supprised. If you want a cheap battery, have a look in the yellow pages for your local agricultural supplier. Phycically measure your battery box for the largest battery you can fit, and just get a small tractor battery. Should be about £50 for one brand new, better than the £100 which hallfords will charge (excuse the pun).
