Post by: drumjondrum on November 08, 2009, 09:39:11
Hey Guys

Just about to venture into getting a "B" Reg Safari!!

The Really nice Bloke i'm getting off, says the previous owner said it had Military history!

I've been to have a look and done the deal with the bloke.... But wanted know what the tell tell signs are between a civilian and military Safari??????

When comparing to my old military 109... I deffinately think it has got military value ( I.e similar chassis ) but no lift..... SOooo Really not sure lads!

Can anyone help?

Cheers

hi there

not quite sure on the differences between military and civvy series, i know that the military paint the rear diff white usually and that the engine block tends to be turquoise in colour.

is the rear crossmember original ie. any signs of welding as the crossmember in most millitary landys are Heavy duty one i think.

there is the possibility that it was owned by mililtary but in civvy spec as well

i'm sure there are ways to find out via DVLA was it registered later than manufature

hope i have helped put you on right road to finding out
