Anybody know the head bolts torque settings for a series 3 2.25L Diesel engine?

Usually about 15 ftlb's
then 90 degrees
and another 90 degrees.

But some may say different.

90lb.ft for the 1/2in. UNF bolts (head bolts)

18lb.ft for the 5/16in. UNF bolts (rocker shaft)

Make sure the sequence is correct and dont put all the pressure on at once :wink:

90 ft/lbs for head bolts is spot on by the book ....Al

RTFM - don't even think about trying head work without the manual, if you torque up or release the head bolts out of sequence you risk knackering your head.

Came across this site today. You can download complete service manuals and there there's a page in the series III manual with every torque setting you could imagine.

I've got one, makes a cracking hammer! ;) I'd personaly be more concerned about the tightening order than the torque settings Chris.
