can any one tell me is it only the series 1,2,2a that have the fold down wind screen, or does the series 3 have it as well, what about the 90s?
-
No. only series vehicles had the comonly used fold down window. But the earlier defenders and 90/110's had them up to about 1994. Look at how the windscreen is fitted, and they are clearly hinges.
-
so i could fold the wind screen down on a series 3?
thanks for the quick reply.
-
Yes, as long as the hinges arnt seized. :D
-
Although originally the windows are designed to sit on the spare wheel onthe bonnet, so watchout for the bonnet if no spare wheel, might need a packer of some type to protect it
-
cheers for the info guys,
see you at malvern if your going,

Just a side-note... if you are thinking of driving with the screen down... wear goggles ! A fly in the eye is not a good thing when you're pottering along in a couple of tons of Land Rover... that's assuming your eyes aren't watering so much you can see at all of course ;-)
-
I suppose I should point out that it's a legal requirement to wear goggles too (or a helmet)

Keep your mouth shut as well :)
