Title: Zenith 36IV
Post by: Ser3 J on March 29, 2007, 17:56:36
I have a 2.25 petrol (5MB) which currently has a webber carb (type unknown) fitted.  I want to fit the original Zenith 36IV to put the LR back to 'normal' and complement the Turner uprated cylinder head I am going to order.

I cannot seem to find anywhere that stocks original (Not dubious copy) Zenith Carbs - Am I being a bit daft?

Also - any suggestions ona less restrictive manifold/exhaust?

You need to go to a proper carb retailer. This (http://www.burlen.co.uk/) place sells them.

The exhauast has a few options.

A Stainless Sports system.

Or an ACR tubular manifold and Hi flow silencer.

Minimad,

Thanks for the offer - Iv also got an old one amoungst my bits and bobs - but Iv gone and ordered a shiny new bit!!  Saves my bungled 'refurb' efforts and should give plenty years of service.

Still working on an exhaust tho...

I do not believe the zenith would complement an uprated (stage 1 or 2) head.

I would advice talking to ACR regarding the head. they also do the downpipe and exhaust (back box) to suit an uprated head (as well as the head).

If you have a bit of left over cash from that i would suggest getting the SU HS6 carb from them.  All these combined are worth every penny, just getting 1 part is not such a benefit.

Iv just noticed ACR - Im considering that option as well - although if im very lucky - I may be changing engine

And it wont need a carb...
