Title: Land Rover or Land Cruiser ???

Hi All

I am toying with the idea of getting another vehicle, with long range expeditions in mind.
A few friends have set off for South Africa in Land Cruisers so it would make sence if i got a similar vehicle.

My head says get a Cruiser while my heart is going for a D3.
Comfort and reliability is the main criteria. Both vehicles are more than capable in the dirt/sand/snow etc.

what would you do ?

If it were me and I could not use the 90 I think it would have to be an 80 series land cruiser, bought here for low ish money then refurbished to a decent level. I know that support is available for electronic land rovers but I would prefer a degree of mechanical simplicity so I could bodge it back together miles from anywhere if I had to.
