Hi i recently inherited my dads freelander, i'm a bit of a newbie,
I want to know what mods i can get and would suit the car , i was sent here on the belief i could find sum freelander experts who know their stuff :P
i need to know what i can get and where from , and what would/wouldn't be suitable
Ive ordered chrome wing mirrors, chrome side steps and light guards, what else can i buy to make this slightly neglected vehicle into a mean machine looking shiny-
i'd like to know also if i can get the grey faded looking bumpers changed/ painted?
basically i want it as a tidy shiny car for on the road but im known for taking normal cars where they aren't supposed to be in the country, and ruining exausts etc... so would like a few offroad mods but nothing major
here she is (http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/6944/freelander.jpg) (http://img18.imageshack.us/my.php?image=freelander.jpg)

hey james :) glad you regestered on here. you will find plenty of experts here and lots of peeps to offer help tis a great place :) let me be the first to welcome you to the madhouse that is mudclub :)

Hey James, welcome to MC.
There is loads of "Bling" available for the freelander and quite abit of offroad stuff too. I just depends on how far you wanna go & how much pocket money you have?
If your looking for ideas two very useful sites are Freelander Club & M.A.D Freelanders, register on the forums (it's free) and have a read.
But I guess a good starting point would be wheels and tyres, an all terrain tyre on a freelander makes a huge impact on it's off road ability, with the steel rims you have you could go up a few sizes to increase ground height with out any mods. 215/75/15 or 215/80/15.
Cheers
Phil
P.s All 97-2000 freelanders have grey bumpers anyho, they probably just need a damm good clean tho, try some bumper restorer from your local Half**ds first.

thanks alot, i don't have huge amounts , so i guess i'l get sum nice wheels and tyres then take it from there
-
To clean the bumpers try using Plastic Garden Furniture cleaner, much cheaper and basically the same stuff.
-
Dont laugh!..Try some peanut butter on the bumpers,Has worked wonders in the past
-
use mer for the bumpers ! brings em up a treat
-
where did you get the chrome mirrors from?.... try adding many lights to bling it up
