Title: 3.9V8 to 200Tdi Conversion
Post by: ChrisW on January 20, 2005, 19:45:52
My friend is looking at swapping a 3.9 out for a 200Tdi (3.9 has a conrod thro the block). He wants to mate it up to the 4 speed ZF autobox - anyone know any details of conversion kits needed to mate the two together, suppliers etc?

The 200 is currently bolted to a 5 speed manual box if that makes any difference?  :?

I have to admit, I don't know the specifics of the 200... but you'll need to change the flywheel for a flex plate and starter ring and you'll probably need a different torque converter to make it all work.

I would advise giving Dave @ Ashcroft a call... he was most helpful when I was putting a ZF on the back of my GEMS engine.

I've got that starter plate thingy on a V8 if it's any use to you.

Does your mate want to sell the EFi system, I'm after an ECU.

Alternatively I've got a 3.5EFi engine if you want it?
